Swedish adventure racing — Norrland wilderness at half distance
· July 26, 2026
The Craft Snowman Legend is a 70.3-distance race set in the Norrland wilderness of northern Sweden. A lake swim, a rolling bike through boreal forest, and a run through Swedish countryside. This is not a city race — it's an adventure in one of Europe's last great wildernesses.
Swim Course
The swim takes place in a lake in northern Sweden. Water temperatures in late July can be cool — around 16–20°C — and the remote setting adds an expedition quality. The lake conditions are calm and the water is clean.
Bike Course
The bike course winds through the boreal forests and rolling terrain of Norrland. The roads pass through some of Sweden's most unspoiled landscapes — forests, lakes, and mountain views. The terrain is rolling with moderate climbing, and the remoteness of the setting means long stretches of quiet, beautiful riding.
Run Course
The run takes athletes through the countryside surrounding the race venue. The terrain is mixed with some trail elements possible. The Scandinavian summer daylight and pristine environment make for a distinctive running experience unlike any urban 70.3.
Race Day Conditions
Late July in Norrland offers long summer daylight with temperatures ranging from 12–24°C. The weather can be variable — sunshine and showers are both common. The remote mountain setting means conditions can change quickly. Prepare for layers and variable conditions.
